As much as we try to keep camp affordable, the cost of meals, lodging, activities, and staff for a full camp session adds up quickly. Thankfully, we have income-based scholarships available to help ensure no child misses out on camp for financial reasons. The Saginaw YMCA’s Annual Campaign and the generous gifts of individuals, community partners, and businesses make these scholarships possible.
Four Essentials to Know About Our Income-Based Scholarships
No Impact on Camp Experience: Rest assured, your child’s camp experience will be just as high-quality as any other camper’s. There will be no way to identify scholarship recipients while they are at camp.
Confidentiality Guaranteed: The details of your scholarship are private. Unless you choose to share, neither your child, their counselors, nor any other campers will know about the scholarship. Only three people at camp will have access to this information: our office manager, program director, and camp director.
Simple and Easy Application Process: Applying for a scholarship is quick and easy. Just submit an application with basic camper information and household income verification.
Expanding Access to More Kids: Our goal is to make camp accessible to as many children as possible, regardless of financial situation. We want every child to experience the fun, friendships, and learning that camp has to offer.
How to Apply for a Scholarship
Scholarship applications involve just three easy steps:
- Complete the Application: Fill out the scholarship application form with your child’s information and household income details.
- Submit Documentation: Provide the necessary documentation to verify household income.
- Review and Approval: Once your application is reviewed, you’ll be notified of your scholarship status and your child’s camp registration tier.
