Musical Mastery Awaits Your Camper
Herter Band Camp, in partnership with Herter Music Center, offers a unique opportunity for young musicians to grow their skills, experience nature, and prepare for a concert performance at YMCA Camp Timbers. Designed for students entering grades 6–10 with at least one year of school band experience, campers will enjoy a week filled with music, adventure, and friendship. The camp concludes with a live concert at Standish-Sterling Central High School, showcasing the campers’ hard work. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable summer experience!
Who Can Join?
This program is designed for students entering grades 6–10 during the 2027-2028 school year who have completed at least one year in their school band.
What to Expect:
- Music Mastery: Campers will work closely with experienced instructors to enhance their musical abilities. Daily rehearsals, sectionals, and one-on-one guidance will culminate in a concert performance at the end of the week.
- Adventures in Nature: Beyond music, campers will enjoy classic YMCA Camp Timbers activities, including swimming, zip-lining, archery, canoeing, and much more.
- Friendships & Fun: This camp is a supportive environment where youth connect with peers who share their passion for music while enjoying the camaraderie and excitement of camp life.
Saturday Concert Details:
The grand finale of Herter Band Camp will take place on Saturday, at Standish-Sterling Central High School. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the hard work and dedication of our campers come to life in a live concert performance!

- Concert Start Time: 11:00 am
- Check-out Time: 9:30 am
Important Information for Parents and Guardians:
- Bus Transportation: Campers will be transported by bus from YMCA Camp Timbers to Standish-Sterling Central High School on Saturday morning.
- Pick-Up Process: Parents and guardians can begin check-out at 9:30 am. To ensure a smooth process, please bring photo ID for verification.
- After the Concert: Luggage and campers will be available for pick-up following the concert.
